1st ever vacation to the UP. My family and I will be in the Munuscong Bay / Neebish Island area in early August. This is probably not the best time for fishing that area, but I was wondering if somebody could inform me on the perch, smallmouth, and walleye fishing for that time of year. Any info at all would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Try hitting the river channels for the eyes. You can bottom bounce with harnesses and do pretty well. Friend of mine was up there last August and they did really well in the river, north of the bay.

i would defintely hit the channel in the st. marys river in august. i live only 20 minutes by water to munuscong bay and fish the river daily. good colors to try are blue spinner blades and silver willow leaf blades. a good place for fishing info and lures is the wilderness shop right in pickford. perch fishing will be in deeper water. dont know where to go down there for perch though. good luck. pm me with any questions.

I leave tomorrow for my first trip to Munuscong.
At the risk of sounding snobbish...I fish Erie regularly and have plenty of walleye in the freezer.
Anybody doing any good on muskies or smallmouth there now?
I have never been there before...so any thoughts on techniques would be appreciated.
