Our family will be staying at a cabin on Lake Charlevoix the 3rd week of July. I have never fished the lake, but it sounds like it has walleyes and good small mouth bass. Does anyone know if there are any places to rent boats in the area? I would like to rent a couple 14 foot boats.

Unless I mis-read somehthing the Riverside marina is in Bellaire, that's Traverse City area. Swan Valley Marina in East Jordan rents every thing from fishing boats to jet ski's. For honest fishing reports for Lake Charlevoix contact Tom's Tackle in East Jordan.

Don't know exactly where you're staying. Boyne City and Charlevoix are on the main body and East Jordan is on the south arm of the lake, so I don't know what will be closer, but here's a link to area boat rentals.

I also know that Four Seasons Marina in East Jordan has a pontoon boat for rent. I second the visit to Tom's for honest reports. Used to go there often when I lived in East Jordan.
