Well, I was one of the lucky 33,000 to witness Verlander's no-hitter first hand. And from great seats, no less.
It was a perfect night for a ball game: no clouds, warm temps, and $8 beer. Oh well, at least it keeps me from being over-served.
So on with the pictures:
Here's a shot of the right field bleachers from where I was sitting (10 rows above the Tigers dugout--http://www.michigan-sportsman.com/photopost/data/539/thumbs/woot.gif)

Here's Pudge and Inge warming up. My 11yo daughter LOVES Inge.

The eventual man of the hour (sorry about the crappy resolution. I tried to zoom in too close with my daughter's Canon A560 6mp 4x Zoom--it's not enough zoom;)).

In the third, Inge ran the count to full (if I remember right) and drilled a liner into the bull pen for the Tigers' first run.

I don't know if this is Granderson's triple or not. But MAN, that dude can run like a cheetah. When you watch the ball head toward the gap, by the time you look back to see where Granderson is at, he's rounding second. He's quick, man.

Casey had a hit last night too. He's funny to watch expecially after just watching the best physical specimen on the team (Granderson) hit and run. Then comes Casey.........

It was about the 5th inning, and nobody around us was talking about it. My buddies were oblivious to the fact. So I tell my friend Andy, "Look at the scoreboard." He's like, "What?" He just stares at it. And I tell him to look really GOOD at the scoreboard. OF course, I can't say anything cuz I don't want to be the one to jinx the no-no. So I let it go.

This isn't the last batter but I think it was close. Maybe the second out (I was trying to capture as much on camera as I could.)
By the way, at this point, my buddy, the people around me, the other 33000 in the ballpark and the rest of the baseball watching world had figured out what "Look at the scoreboard" meant:lol:

The celebration. I was just a second or two late from getting Pudge and Verlander hugging.

That was incredible. The way he was throwing I would not be surprised at all to see more in his future. 100+ fastball with a curve like he has is a perfect combo for no-no's.

Thanks for sharing the pic's.

Wow thanks for the pictures! You had to be close to my sister and her family. They were near the camera on the 3rd base side. What a cool night to go to the game!

Wow,

Looks like you were about 10 rows in front of me. Section 132. Great seats and almost a shot at 2 foul balls. Great game and that 101 mph pitch on the 2nd batter was amazing.

The only down side to the game was that one of the gulls didn't get whacked.
