Freakin amazing outing by Verlander!!! man its great to be a tigers fan!! i haven't been this excited since mags homer to send up to the world series.
Wow, that was awesome!
Mags made a heck of a catch in the top of the 7th to keep it a no hitter too.
That play by Nifi to start the double play was excellent too.
Great defence Justin had behind him, not to take away from his excellent pitching.

BOOYAH BABY.
Another Rod-ism for tonight. Middle of the third, after V-lander's fifth strikeout, Rod says:
"Verlander is just filthy tonight!"
Damn straight, he was. I'm glad I was able to watch it unfold.

Watched the whole game. Didn't realize it was a no-no until the 8th when I flipped over to ESPN and saw it on the "breaking news" corner. I love it that the FOX guys didn't jinx him by uttering those words!
Rookie of the Year - 2006
No Hitter - 2007
Congrats Justin!

They interupted regular programing on ESPN to bring the last inning live. It was cool to watch!

He was overpowering tonight. Hitters were off balance the whole game. Great performance by Verlander!

There must be a record for checked swings in there also. I've never seen so much confusion at the plate as I did tonight by the Milwaukee batters. They had no idea what was coming at them.
Awesome to watch.

Even better: Cleveland lost to Florida.
Tigers back to tied for first!
What an awesome performance. Anyone catch to close-up of him inbetween the 8th and 9th innings. He looked very focussed...and maybe a bit nervous. The hard breaking curve really worked well for him tonight.

Well I usually go to 6-8 games a year, and boy did I pick a good one to go to!!! The park was electric!! I was at the world series last year, game 2, and tonight the 9th inning was louder then the series!! Truly an awesome game, and a night I will never forget! I am still awake because I can't sleep!

Pure adrenaline, hitting 102, and it was every bit of 102...Nolan Ryan was the last to throw a no-hitter in Detroit (1973)...For those of you that remember Nolan Ryan, even in the latest stages of his career, this maybe the second coming of him....Fastball averaging in the upper 90's, a huge-sharp breaking ball, and a change-up 15 MPH shy of that fastball that has hitters looking stupid...When Ryan had all 3 pitches going, you couldn't touch him...Verlander is the same way...this was Ryan, 34 years later, in a 23 year old's uniform tonight...
Anyone wanna make a bet who starts the All-Star game for the AL this year??? Especially with Leyland as the AL manager...

That was some filthy stuff last night...just filthy. Counsell and Graffanino basically walked into the batters box in the 9th with a white flag tied around the barrell of their bats. All that was missing was them screaming "UNCLE"
Verlander is a bulldog, and the teams true Ace of the staff. I hope Bonderman was taking notes on how to finish a game and not give the bullpen a chance to blow it in the 6th or 7th.

I listened to the game on the radio and it was great. I think the only thing that would have been better was to hear Ernie call it. But the guys on the radio were so excited it was hard not to stand up and yell. All I can say is what a game, and we are now tied for 1st.

Obscene, Disgusting, Vile...That was Verlander last night. How lucky is that guy, he has the tools to throw a no hitter, hit 102 mph in the 9th inning, and then has some smokin' hot girlfriend come out and stick her tounge down his throat in front of thousands of people near the third base line.
Also, I love how Rod and Mario refused to mention the no-hitter untill after the final out in the 9th.:)

That pretty much sums it up. One thing I noticed though,,, all the f'ed up battting stances those Milwaukee hitters had:dizzy: some of the craziest stances I've seen in a while. On the other hand,,,,, it wouldn't have mattered anyway,,, Verlander was throwing a no-no last night,, didn't matter who stepped up to the plate. Milwaukee just happened to be in his path.

Thank God for ESPN - managed to break away from poker for the last two innings (well, the parts Verlander pitched, anyway). I called two of my friends before I knew what was going on - they were sitting in the stands, could hear everyone cheer as Sheffield doubled. I'm so jealous. Two more weeks and I get to go see my beloved Tigers!

I went down to my dad's and was able to watch the first 5 innings. Verlander really had great command and his pitches were working. What a talent! My sister and her family got tickets and they took my nephews to the game! Sure wish they'd have taken me!!! Wow what a game! How many K's did Justin end up with? I think when I left he had 9 or 10.

He ended with 12, that was awesome game, I agree it was really cool how the nose and the mouth did not mention the nono, the would just say how many k's or he has only given up 3 walks. Pretty cool

I was there last night!! Phenomenal atmosphere... This game was my Father's Day gift for my father-in-law - huge old school Tigers fan. Last time I treated him to Comerica Park was for the HR Derby in 2005 - Bobby Abreu smashing the old record :D
I guess you guys should pay me to let you know when I am heading down to the ballgame - history will be made. ;)

Felt like I was watching a world series game at home! I can't imagine what it was like for the lucky people that were there last night.
Awesome pitching - he was locating the ball very well, and great defense behind him. Way to go Justin!
