Has anyone camped at Brimley SP with a beach front site? How was it? Any good trout streams near the camp ground? Thanks,

Just got back from the UP, didn't camp but stayed w/ a buddy a half mile from the park, bring your bug spray!! The lake is down a lot......a couple other members here, Greywolfy/U.P. MI and D.C.U.P. are from Brimley and live near the park, they can probably fill you in on the trout streams. Just do a member search for them.......good luck and have a great time camping.

Brim State Park: Nice beach but the camp ground isn't all that hot. Very open and very close together. Not many trees. About as private as camping at a NASCAR race. I give it a C-.

I recommend Big Pine (about 15 miles west of Brimley), its on Lake Superior, nice and spacious. Brookie streams are not far west of you. National Forest site. Very very very pretty. Official BFE.

Another would be Soldiers Lake, west of Brimley on M-128. About 7 miles south of Superior. Its between Raco and Strongs. Has a nice little lake with a sand beach. Not far from Brook streams as well. More family friendly for young kids than Big Pine. National Forest site. Less BFE but close.
