Betsie??

Has anyone fished the Betsie the last couple of days. I am thinking of going there tomorrow afternoon, which is a given since I live about a mile away, but was just wondering if anyone has done any good. :D

Well if your looking for salmon which you proble arent, they are over. If your lookinf for steel i heard they are doing pretty good right now but will get better. I havnt got out for the steel there yet but if you only live a mile away go check it out anyway.Good luck

Caddis 4 steel, where do you live, I only live a mile away myself. I use Traverse City, as that is where I work. I actually live in Benzonia.

I live pretty far away so i make sure the fish are there before i go.I call around to fly shops and get reports or i will just go to one of the other sites like steelheadsite.com if i want a report. Anyway like i said if you know how to fish the river and its only a mile away from where ever you were talking about then you should go give it a try.Your chance is that you will most likely hook into a few steelies.

Sorry Caddis I read your report wrong, I thought you said you lived about a mile away also. I did fish there yesterday, fishing pretty slow, I suspect that it will get better any day now, but who knows. I may try there again this weekend, I find it better to fish Sunday afternoon than any other time during the weekend, everyone has gone home by then. Keep you fingers crossed, the steelies should be coming home soon. ;)

I got pushed out of My hunting spot by someone who did't know where He was, on private land,. So I went to the Frankfort Pier and saw three guys doing good for steel. I tried two spots on the lower river and went 4 for 4 in about 45 min. All but one released. The storm that blew through on tuesday helped bring some steelhead into the river.
