Because without a doubt in my mind, the Pistons would have competed better than the Cavs are...What a joke...

The NBA got their superstar in the finals.... What they didnt realize is that the star has no team behind them, and the team that was already in the finals was a complete team (more like the pistons) Oh well they can eat all the ratings they lose when each game has the spurs up by 20+

Pistons might have matched up better than the Cavs. But the stones couldnt get it done, losing in 6 games to the Cavs. They play 3 rounds of playoff games and by the time the finals come along the teams that are there deserve to be there. Cav might not be a better team than us but they beat us fair and square.
Plus, i dont think the stones would be any better vs the Spurs. They would also be down 0-2 at this point.

Remember 2005, when the Pistons got blown out by the Spurs in the first 2 games, and it looked like a sweep, the Detroit drug them out to a grind it out, classic 7 game series. I think the Cavs have that same edge the Stones had that year, i would still watch out for them and not count them out yet.
Yes, the Stones would've competed better, no doubt, much better matchups and the Pistons experience. Parker wouldn't be getting 30+ on Billups....

You mean when they had Ben Wallace? Little different playing against Tim Duncan without him. The Cavs beat us fair and square and IMO, a large part of that reason is Flips coaching. He couldn't figure out how to beat a one man team (yeah I know the Cavs won one where LeBron scored less than 20). But the fact is they are still a one man team and the Spurs are exposing that just like the Pistons SHOULD have.

I will also blame Flip for not being able to figure out how to stop James, especially during that one game BUT that was only ONE game. However, we didnt loose any games by much and even the games we won were only won by a pont or so.
With that being said, I put more blame on Prince than anyone because he was only 16/64 (pathedic) and that included free throws so do the math. You get a guy missing 80% and those missed shots turn into points at the other end, that WAS the diference between winning and loosing. I think he only had 2 buckets during the first 2 games. Its one thing to have a guy shut down due to defence but when a guy just cant shoot, and for an entire series, its time to go.

The Cavs beat the Stones the same way the Spurs are beating the Cavs - by out-hustling them everywhere. They are keeping LeBron out of the paint, so he cannot dunk - which is his money shot. He is missing from everywhere, which he did not do against the Pistons. The Spurs are the best all around team in the game, and nobody could have beaten them this year.
On the other hand, LeBron's girlfriend just delivered their 2nd Son this morning. For a 22 year old, he has had a lot going on, and a lot of pressure in every aspect of his life, for the last 6 weeks or so. Who knows?, perhaps he will light it up tonight.
Tim Duncan and Tony Parker are a force to be reckoned with.
