ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -- The Detroit Tigers (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/teams/det/;_ylt=AhyLSFrHisILgqXvvwIdEDOpu7YF) placed right-hander Zach Miner (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/7783/;_ylt=At34Ubc9zJzoBxKQ2JLRA.Wpu7YF) on the 15-day disabled list because of a strained tendon in his right elbow.
The team announced the move after the game against the Texas Rangers (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/teams/tex/;_ylt=Agh1.R969XSrWLc.64RWyk.pu7YF)Yorman Bazardo (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/7554/;_ylt=AoceqHjTO5b_AcnH20V1eUSpu7YF) and Aquilino Lopez (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/7098/;_ylt=AtitC7O_V5pqybQuLnut93ypu7YF) from Triple-A Toledo. on Wednesday night. The Tigers recalled right-handers
The Tigers called up two pitchers because left-hander Nate Robertson (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/7014/;_ylt=AsQWwHozW8FrweNW_bHF9bapu7YF) was also placed on the disabled list Wednesday night with what manager Jim Leyland called a "tired arm."
Leyland announced Wednesday night that left-hander Andrew Miller (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/7847/;_ylt=Aly3Mb3.***2jP6eiky7sU.pu7YF) will be called up from Double-A Erie to replace Robertson for Sunday's start against the New York Mets (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/teams/nym/;_ylt=AnG2SWaBpqJP7r.pI6U5ex2pu7YF).
Bazardo was 4-3 with a 3.77 ERA in 11 starts for Toledo. Lopez, with his fourth major league team, is in his third relief stint with the Tigers this season. He has a 5.06 ERA in 10 2-3 innings.

Thank goodness we have one of the deepest organizations, with pitching, in baseball. Enjoy watching some of these young talented arms getting their "shot".

An injury prone, Detroit team? Hmmmmmm, never heard of that before. Hopefully it doesn't continue.

Anyone wonder if this has anything to do with the new pitching coach? Almost no injuries last year and I can't even count them all this year. Makes you wonder.

Same pitching coach as last year, Chuck Hernandez.

Just one of those things. Tigers are really going to be tough to beat when everyone is healty. I'd have to guess a trade is somewhere in the works when Rogers comes back.

It's not all that bad. I like Miner myself, but his injury can be survived. For what it's worth, I kinda liked the stuff I seen outta that Bazardo kid last night. Even that pitch that Teixeira hit out was a good pitch. Mark just did a great job of hitting it, nothing you can really do about that. Yorman is going to get a couple more chances here, and I would really like to see more of his stuff. His ball seemed to have some late movement.

We do have an incredibly deep talent pool of arms down on the farm. We still have kids like Trahern and Jurrgens down in the mix. And don't exactly write off Roman Colon yet either. He's had some minor injury setbacks this year, but he has been pitching excellant the past week or two. I hope he can get some bugs worked out, because he does have a very live arm. I like seeing all these kids get a chance, you never know when one of them might just explode onto the scene.:)

We were lucky last year with injuries too. We probably had less injuries than any other team.

a little off topic, but since you guys are talkin about how deep the organization is...anyone watch the draft yesterday? they picked up another pitcher who looks to be another justin verlander. straight out of high school they said his fastball is in the mid to high 90s

Yeah I saw it. The kid is supposed to be a steal where the Tigers got him. They are able to draft well because Ilitch will pay the bonuses that other teams wont, as result top 5 talent routinely drops down in the draft.
