Fine, I'll start. Congrats Ducks. They earned it. Gotta give them there dues. The Ducks this year certainly got what they were after and fought every inch of the ice all year to get.

I agree. After saying that I would not watch any of the games I ended up watching every one. Very good games. But I did notice that the officiating was alot different then say the Ducks Redwings Series. Hmmmm, why is that???

Naah,, the officiating was pretty consistant,,,,,,,,consistantly BAD!!!
Last night they said Anaheim had 13, 5 on 3's "against", during the playoffs and I'm pretty sure they were the most penalized team throughout. That's tough to overcome. Pretty dominating performance really,,, and to think,, this team is mostly "kids",:tdo12: . I couldn't believe how young they looked during the interviews after the game. I really wanted to see Giggy get another Conn Smythe though,,,, if the Sens didn't play so bad, he mighta. Anyway, glad to see Giggy, Selanne and Pronger:hide: ,, get their first one.
I also gotta give it up to Grapes,,, he NEVER forgets to mention the Soldiers, Canadian and U.S troops in between periods and last night he even blasted a couple other countries for not helping out oversea's.

I thought it was a decent series. I wish Ottawa would have fared a little better.
As much as we hate Pronger, he is a heck of a player and deserved it.
I'd take him on the Wings in a heartbeat.
It was cool to see Selanne finally get it too.

Yeah, but does he have to be on a team from southern CA? I can't bring myself to root for a team from a city that cannot produce its own natural ice (not that Ottawa does in June, but you know what I mean).

oh who friggin cares if theres ice there or not:rolleyes: thats the most retarded thing iv ever heard in my life, and i cant stand when people whine about that:rolleyes: since when do people only get the right to have a team for a sport, only if the turf its played on naturaly occurs there?  seriousely, we arent any better or more deserving of a team just cuz we do... give it a rest. who cares. hate em for a better reason, be upset for a better reason. but dont cry about it being a southenr state or area please. Exactly. The NHL is just not working in the regions that the league wants it to. Right, wrong, or indifferent, it's just not.
For a long time now, I've been poppin off about getting more teams back into Canada. It has to be done for this league to even have a shot at flourishing. Here's my solution. Fold (contract) the 2 worst (lowest fan attendance, revenues) US hockey teams. And take the 3rd and 4th worst, and relocate them into Canada. That way, it would be a league of 28 teams, thus increasing the talent level among the teams. And there would be 8 Canadian teams instead of the current 6. That would be a major increase in revenues, tv ratings and fan interest. Personnally, I absolutely agree with Bonney about getting a team back into Quebec. I have loved the idea for a long time now. In addition, I would love to see a team back in Winnipeg. At the same time, I realize that this will not happen. Bettman won't allow it. But, it's nice to pipe-dream.
Don't be surprised to see Nashville get moved upon the conclusion of the upcoming season. Of course the new owner that just bought the team is a Canadian billionaire, and the consensus around the league is that it's a done deal that the Preds will be moved to Canada. That's a huge step in the right direction. The rumored cities are Hamilton, Kitchener, and one other one, but I forget what it was. Peterborough maybe? I forget, but I coulda swore it was another city in Ontario.

Huh? More Canadian teams, 19 of 21 players for Anahiem are Canadian, so I would consider them a Canadian team, lol.

Kitchener has a Metro population of 451,000 and is Canada's 10th largest city.
Hamilton has a Metro population of 692,000 and is Canada's 9th largest city.
To put that into perspective, I'm not 100% sure, but I would have to guess that makes both of those cities almost the same size (if not larger) as Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Columbus, Memphis, Tampa Bay, Raleigh/Durham/Greensboro, and St.Paul (the twin cities Wild). Since they have teams, I see no reason why Kitchener and/or Hamilton couldn't thrive.;):) Plus, the point here isn't the size of the city. It's the fanbase. How many butts can you put in the seats? Any die-hard hockey fan knows that Canadians from these 2 regions eat up hockey a whole lot more than your average citizen living in Memphis. I highly doubt that the millionaire (billionaires?) businessmen involved in making the decisions about moving teams to and fro give a darn about the size or population of the surrounding area. They care about sufficient (safe, modern, etc,.) venues for their product, can the product market itself, and ultimately......profits.:dizzy:

The cities seem big enough, but isn't one of them just like 15 minutes from Toronto? I think that is what I read, but I could be mistaken. But then again the Rangers and the Islanders only play like 20 miles away. So maybe it doesn't matter. In which case maybe I should delete this post!:lol::lol:
