Hey everybody,
My best friend's brother just bought a new boat and he wants to take us out fishing at gull lake. Problem is, he's never fished it and really doesn't know a whole lot about fishing. He's just trying to get into it. So, I'm the only one with some fishing knowledge (I empahasize some, I like to fish but do so with very little success) and will most likely be directing the boat on where to go, setting up rods, and taking care of everybody. Having never set eyes on this lake it seems like I remember reading that it is fairly large. I'm just wondering what fish this lake is known for, what the fishing has been like, and if you could give me a general area of the lake that tends to produce some fish. Or, if you want to pm a more specific location, I'll take anything I can get. I'm sure we'll be going after bass but was wondering what else this lake had to offer and was hoping to maybe try for some pike. Again, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Gull lake has plenty to offer with a ton of people being top on the list. I would go early in the morning or during the week it will make your experience a whole lot better.

The other option would be gun lake. I know nothing about this lake. We're looking to fish friday night and early saturday morning. Is Gull lake going to be too crowded?

Gun lake will be crowded too, but if you get out early enough on saturday morning you should be able to get some peace and quiet for a couple of hours. Both lakes get fished hard and ski'd hard on the weekends. However, I would never say it's too crowded to fish. I haven't been out on gun yet this year, so I don't really know how the bite's been, but you'll have a ton of options on where to fish with LM, SM and pike all possiblilities.

Good luck
