It's about time one of those fishing shows took a salmon trip. I have beenn watching PBS shows for about 6 yrs now and I get to see one show a year that has to do with salmon fishing either river or lake or just to do with salmon. This year I have got to see fred trost fish a peir for cohos steelies and browns. MUCC kids fishing the pere marquette for kings. MUCC showing a clip what the those weirs do and MUCC again fishing the muskegon with Kelly hitchcock, O yah there was one other one that dealed with fishing for steelies and salmon on the manistee. This is what more sportsman shows have to do like fred trost and rob trot. On robs i have never seen a show that dealed with salmon and fred it like 1 every for yrs. Well that is my 2 cents. Enjoyed this week shows . Keep up the good work.

Probably the reason you don't see ole Fred down at the river to much is becuase he knows he doesn't have very many friends there!
Seriously though, I think the reason you don't see many MI sportsmen TV shows run programs about fishing salmon in the river is because of the crowds they would be forced to deal with. Lets face it finding a nice peacefull spot to yourself is rare during the salmon runs. While it can be done, the fishing is usaully less than fantastic, unless your lucky. And just think, if they did find such a place and ran a TV show about it, it wouldn't be peacefull any longer once the show aired!
I say to heck with those TV shows anyway, they haven't taught me anything. I learn more from talking to people on the internet and at the river.

I give Fred Trost the big thumbs down. His show is so boring. Yet, I remember a time when he had a decent variety of events that were entertaining many many years ago. Now, it is "I found this piece of knife handle in my sock....how much is it worth?" or fred blowin' wind trying to stir up the masses. Who are waiting for the MUCC M-outof-d and happen to catch his crap before.

remember the month taht all he talked about was the dumb outdoor fair. He ranmble on for like 3 weeks about it. I was like thrwing things at the tv is was so mad. I think after that his show went do wn the drain.
