heading up to hardy dam pond Sunday night, any tips/ areas to try for pike/smallies?

Well, this time of year, for pike I would (from Brower Park) head up river to the weed flat east of the island before you get to the overpass. Also, the weedflats that are towards the dam (from Brower Park) down river. As you head toward the dam from Brower Park, there is one large on on the first corner that turns to the right and two large ones on the left side about halfway there. If you get to the first large bayou on your left, start at the point of that bayou and head back down towards Brower Park staying in about 7 feet of water or so. If you see weeds, you're in the right spot.

I would throw spinnerbaits (white and chartreuse work well) as well as crankbaits and stickbaits in perch color.
