In todays paper 3rd. June, Leyland stated we have a great closer. I'd be willing to bet that "great closer" has had something to do with a few of his grey hairs.

I think Jones should sent back to the minors and learn how to close out a game... For some reason every time he comes in to a game i cringe :sick:

Last year we won with great pitching and mediocre hitting, that scored just enough runs. This team can hammer the ball. The team make up is different. You are never out of a game if you can hit like they do. Pitching does not have to be perfect for them to keep winning. Should be a great Summer. With three of last Summer's major contributors on the DL, I'd say they are doing just fine.

Jones is going througha rough stretch just like he did last year, then he turned it around. He has never been a lights out closer, always done just enough to get the job done. I think he'll be fine which is to say he will be relatively the same as last year.
We have so many bullpen problems that are greater concerns than Todd Jones. When we get to the point where Todd Jones is the number 1 problem in the bullpen, the Tigers will be 3 - 5 games up on Cleveland.
