What type of wire? I need to re spool my A&S reel. I am thinking 60lb caoted. 300 feet. IF it will hold that much. What is your opinion? I fish the SCR.

Thanks'

300 feet of 60lbs coated will fit and is a good choice for the SCR. I have a few reels with 90lbs coated that is easier on the hands and a few with non-coated 60 lbs and you can get better feel.

I prefer the uncoated. Just my 2 cents.

Uncoated 60#.....less resistance in water....better feel!

I use 45# uncoated. I feel the least water resistance the better. I have 60# on my spare reel.

I ran with coated for about 15 years, tried to the non about 5 years ago and stuck with it. I like the thinner less resistant wire and like they said you get a better feel from it.
My on buddy brings his own reel now when we go because it has coated on it. He doesn't go that often and the coated is a little easier on your hands.

I am going with 60lb "uncoated" 300 feet. Seriously thaught about 45 lb but I think it will be to rough on the hands.

Thanks' Again:D

Yeah I run the coated 60# but have another reel that that alot of the coating has cracked off. I think I'll respool that one with uncoated and see if I can tell any difference. BTW those are some nice wooden boats in your photo section desmarr I especially like the lap-strake canoe you built.
