Here is a link to the first (that I have seen) page that shows the allstar voting so far.
http://detroit.tigers.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20070530&content_id=1994484&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb

My 2 biggest gripes:

1) Magg's is #7!!!!!!!! Complete BS. The worst part is that he is behind Damon and Abreu who have done absolutely nothing this season.
2) Robinson Cano ahead of Placido???

Biggest surprise to me, Inge #3 ahead of Crede and Chavez. Finally people are seeing past his .220 average!

I hate the Yankees even more after seeing this!

sadly, thats just the way it is. People get voted in on their name alone every year. Just wait...I'm sure Griffey will be a starter too!

Mabey the MLB should just stop using the whole voting process and just have the Yankees play for the AL-seems like it'd be about the same result either way.

Ahh, Griffey's not doing too badly this year. As far as Abreu and Damon, well, can't help that there are 8 million people in NY.

But don't fret! Leyland gets to pick the AL reserves! I'm sure there will be some MoTown bias!

Could there be some "objective" selection method....maybe a computer program that assigns values to the different performance factors (batting average, fielding percentage, etc.....) for each position? Than all a manager has to do is select the top three results for each position and voila! There is the team!
It could probably work just as well as the computer rankings for the college BCS........

It is just a simple fact that players from NY and Boston are going to get the most votes. Another thing I notices when I went to a game last week was that nobody seemed to be filling out all star ballots. The announcer should do a better job of reminding people about filling out there ballots. That would help the home team in getting some votes.

Maggs is up to #5 (somehow still behind Torii Hunter - a small market guy with a couple homers more than Maggs).

Who's leading you ask (AL outfielders)? Vlad Guerrerro - excellent season, always a top perfomer. The only problem is, his avg. is lower than Maggs', he has fewer homers and not as many runs driven in. But somehow that's worth twice as many votes.

I pride myself on voting for the best player at the position - I voted for Posada for AL catcher - second in avg to our good friend Maggs. Not afraid to vote for Yankees or BoSox - but they should deserve it.
