This may be a noob question, but I have never "targeted" pike before. Only caught them by accident while bass or walleye fishing. What is a good rig for going after pike? I have caught many on crawler harnesses but wondered about hardbaits for casting. Any info would be great. I am heading to a private dock this weekend and the homeowner there says she sees them daily.

Anything big. Pike like a good size meal. Daredevil in red/white or yellow/diamonds. Johnson silver minnow. Bucktail spinners in firetiger or red/black/white combos.

I second the HuskyJerks Gold Silver and Clown. Big chartruse spinnerbaits work too.

I have had good results using a larger size beetle spin Yellow body with black stripes/silver blade.Mostly anything that has some good flash will catch Pike.Target the edge of weedbeds.

if you are in a calm area with weeds try a scum from, they work great to get hits but it can be hard to set the hook, also blue/silver spoons, mepps bucktails #5, spinnerbaits, rapalas. i like to almost always use a 6" 20lb steel leader to, ive lost to many lures and fish to not use them. good luck

i like white spinner baits the best but mepp's musky killers, and husky jerks usually work well also.

My favorite is Huskey Jerks in the 12 cm length. My second favorite would be Huskey Jerks in the 14 mm length! Gold, tennesee shad, clown, perch.
