Sore toe after getting hit by a pitch. Pardon my ignorance, but who plays third? Perez?

Both Perez and Infante are listed as potential 3rd basemen.

Perez played third earlier in the year.

What will we do without his 3 strikeouts, fly out, and double?

I love Inge as a fielder, but his hitting is horrific.

Compare his run production to that of other #9 hitters. He's not Sheffield, Magglio or Guillen, nor is he supposed to be. He's one of the best fielding 3b in the league and his stats for the #9 slot are far above average.
I guess it speaks to the talent the Tigers have when the number one gripe in their lineup is the #9 hitter.

I don't remeber if it was monday or tuesday but man, he snagged one that a guy hit about 1000 mph.
He'll end up batting about .240 with 20+ homers. Tough to argue that from the 9 spot.

I'd like to see Infante get a shot at 3rd. Perez is awful at the plate. If Omar gets a chance and starts hitting, look out Brandon. Has anyone struck out as much with bases loaded, with two outs, or with men in scoring position as has Inge? Him, Thames, & Perez are a drag on the lineup.

My gripe with Inge isn't his average as much as the number of strikeouts and bad at bats he has. I don't expect him to bat 0.260. I do expect him to learn to take walks more and quit striking out though. That stuff can be taught and developed.

Then you must really hate Granderson! He's a leadoff batter, yet is among the league leaders in strikeouts (I know - that isn't fair since Granderson's avg is higher, and he has learned to take walks, and probably doesn't strike out in such bad situations - but strikes out nonetheless). Personally I like both of them, but strikeouts are something you might have to accept to keep the glove in the game. And, hey, at least he's not the cleanup batter like some of the other strikeout-kings the Tigs have had in years past.

Edit: Just checked the AL stats - Tigs have 3 in top-10 in K's: Granderson, Inge and Monroe. Of the 3, Inge has the most walks (20) - 5 more than Monroe in the same no. of AB's.
