I caught and landed a 12-14 lb salmon handlining 5-28-07 on a frog spoon!! What a trip, full of energy. It was happy when I let it go. Caught 5 walleye between me and DeepRiver, and 250 plus silver bass, which we kept 50 nice ones and gave away to the less fortunate. All in all a great day on the water and my heart feels good!!! tightlinesyall

Are Silver Bass the same as White bass?

Yes, they are technically White Bass, however, most people around here seem to call them Silver Bass.
I also caught a Salmon by the Amb. Bridge a couple years ago. 12 lb King. What a fight on a light walleye rod.

I did not loose anything but my hook was straightened out pretty good. I was by the bridge out from Boblo Detroit Dock. I took some salmon out of the freezer to smoke. Going in the dry brine today, and will be smokin tomorrow. Dry brine= 1 1/2 cups course kosher salt and 6 cups light brown sugar(3 boxes). In five gallon bucket, put down one layer of fish, coat generously then another layer and so on, any left over just pur on top. Cure for 18-20 hours, rinse lightly, put on counter pat dry, let sit 20 minutes, then smoke 200 degrees for 4 hours or so. I think I will try what my bud told me, the last 1/2 hour brush on some honey. :corkysm55 tightlinesyall

I like what ICEGUY's dad said...
"I dare ya to not catch a silver bass"!!!!
I think 250 is on the low side.
We must have thrown back at least 10 for every one we kept!!
Which makes it darn hard to get your walleye limit.
The Salmon was incredable. I didn't believe him until he surfaced it and it took off sideways from the boat like a madfish and he sill landed it!
