Each time I've gone out fishing for Pike, I ruin a treble or so. Does someone make a tougher treble out there. So far, I've completely lost a split ring WITH treble, bent a couple, broke a couple. I'ts getting frustrating.

It may have to do with my release method, I use my leatherman pliers to remove the hooks while the fish is in the water. I release most of my fish this way, however it seems to only happens with Pike.

I replace my Rapala hooks with Excalibur rotating trebles. The are strong, offer great hookups. The Rapala hooks are real easy to bend pulling them out of a bony mouth.

Have excellent results using these on my Rapals for Kings and Steelies in the river!

They are the standard hook on one of the deadliest baits ever mass produced, the relatively unknown, but killer Heddon Zara Gossa.

Thanks for the heads up, I like the design of those trebles, could have helped yesterday, when I felt a lot of strikes, but no hook ups. The ones on there now look to be size 4, am I wrong? I've got a feeling I'll have to change EVERY last one of them before I even get to Ontario:lol: I already bought a ton of split rings after that mysterious hook/split ring disappearence while fishing with Mike. We were ripping in pike after Pike, and after a while I noticed that one of my hooks was missing, along with the split ring, how the heck does that happen????

Cheap split rings straightening out. I use only Rosco splits on my regular baits, Bucher triple locks on my muskie baits.
