Nice surprise while pike fishing today

I took my daughter out fishing today for her first pike and she reeled in a 28"r within minutes of trolling. Later, we went back to that spot and I switched out to a gold HJ12 and managed to get a NICE Walleye. It measured just shy of 24", not bad for an inland lake. Had a couple more strikes in that area and one more pike afterward. She's hooked on fishin!!!!! She's excited about our trip to Ontario in August where she can't wait to do battle with the powerful Smallie!!!!

Well, she apparently likes to eat Walleye as well. Tonight, I took half the fish down to my brothers and I cut it into strips and covered it in Shor lunch and fried it in peanut oil. I wasn't sure how she'd like "real" fish:D cause she loves that pollock stuff that they serve in resturants and at the grocery store, It's a good thing too, since we'll be eating plenty of Canadian fish on our trip.

My oldest daughter (3.5) loves Walleye. And I mean loves it. My youngest get's mad when she eats it. (I told my wife she was no child of mine, and asked if the mailman liked Walleye.:lol:)
