Need some area's for carp shooting near Lansing

Now that gas has ruined my travel plans for the weekend I was wondering if anyone had any idea's where to go from shore to do some carp shooting for the weekend.I usually head to Saginaw bay but this is out of the question this year, for now at least...Thanks for any tips...

shiawassee river at bennington road used to be good. haven't been there in forever though, so i have no clue

What about the river bank through the Maple River State Game Area??

Thanks guy's...I think I will try the maple rapids area.I went there last year and saw a bunch but didnt get any.
