I will be upgrading my old Darton MX this year to something a little more modern, but I have not decided on a bow yet. My concern is that I have heard that today's hi-tech bows can be somewhat difficult to tune-up. Any suggestions on easy-to-tune bows would be helpful. I will be using the WB for a hunting rest, if that makes any difference. Thanks in advance.

another darton.

Yes, the Darton Marauder was one of my picks. Do you have any experience with Darton bows? Thanks for the reply.

never shot that bow,but ya can't go wrong with a darton.the only problem with hunt'in with a darton is,its going to cost you alot of money at the taxidermist.my money only buys michigan made bows.

Being made here in Hale, Michigan, is a big reason why I am leaning toward another Darton. I have heard nothing but good things about the Marauder, I even shot one last week at Jay's. A little heavier than I would like but still lighter than my old Darton.

I didn't know Dartons were made in Michigan, I'll have to check them out sometime.

I'm not sure how I'm suposed to tune bow also, I'd like to do it myself but if I have to go to a store then so be it.

They're actualy probably easier.
Better strings mean less stretch, tighter tolerances and better materials used keep things more and more consistent.

And yes....the new Darton's are hot.

There are many tunable bows out there today . Most are more tunable than the older dual cam bows that had cams or wheels that went out of time with string stretch .
I prefer one cam bows , but that's my personal preferance .

well skipper34, my avalanche(i meen red wing) is 3 years old & i haven't touched a thing on it since jays set it up.my string did stretch a bit,but the thing shoots so damn flat, didn't seem to make any difference.
