fishing near omer

I wanted to do some trout fishing this weekend. We are staying at Big Bend campground. What is the Rifle River like for trout in that area.

First off welcome to the site:)
never hear alot on trout down that far, maybe a few browns. But being big holiday weekend, might be alot of canoe traffic to contend with. I'd go further north around lake Ogemaw area and fish early mornings,late evenings, or be one of the canoers and take along the rods:D

Try the Rifle near Selkirk. Not much traffic and it is good trout water.

I have fished at Selkirk before, I have never fished for trout the far down stream. I was hoping to not have to travel far with the gas the way it is.
I will just have to plan a little trip to get some trout.
