I am planning on heading up to the Grayling area in a few weeks and was curious if anyone had any tips on a campground up there. I am looking for something a little more modern this time around (restroom/showers), and the place that seems to be popping up on Google the most is Hartwick Pines.

My goal is to stay within 15 to 20 minutes from Grayling, so if anyone else has any recommendations (or opinion on Hartwick) I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!!

You might want to check out Kneff Lake Campground. It meets your location requirements but it may not have all of the modern comforts.

Last summer my wife and I stayed at River Park, which is close to Hartwick. It's more open and smaller, and didn't have as much privacy for each site, though it was OK for us. I'd still recommend Hartwick.

As I recall there is someplace out by Lovells, too.

Thanks for the tips! I forgot about the federal land campgrounds and was primarily looking at private and state camps.

Thanks for the help!
