OK I'll start this one. It just makes it easier when we have one thread per game to celebrate/complain. :) Only about forty minutes until puck drop and my blood pressure is already up.

I am going to take a break from the first hour of torture and enjoy Deadliest Catch. But I will subject myself to the last 1 hour of the game. ;)

I am not a fan of Pronger at all---but I really can't stand the Niedermayer brothers...Don't know why I never noticed it before, but both just seem to be pricks...especially the younger one. Maybe it is because they are taking it to Detroit:corkysm55

1-0 and the Ducks are already "backing off",,,, with 8 minutes left in the 1st period.

I can't watch on TV. I'm a jinx when I do that. I can only listen on the radio.

I can't believe you guys!
Yes the next goal is HUGE. If it's a Ducks goal, things look bleak. But if it's a Wings goal, we're only ONE SHOT away from a tie and a whole new game.

Is this the Detroit Pistons on ice??? Do they really need to get down 3-0 in the 3rd in an elimination game to start playing well?

That hurts...I really think we were a minute away...one minute away from putting the Ducks on the verge in Game 5, and one minute in Game 6 if we were able to score in that last minute flurry....to go to the Finals. If the Wings were the team up 3-2 going into tonight's game, I doubt they would have come out so flat in the first 2 periods....And if they would have taken this game to overtime, I really would have liked our chance in overtime and in Game 7.
Geez---great unexpected season, but to go down like this really hurts.

anyone else too PO'd to go to bed?!!
(i'm still dewelling on Sunday's game and that lame, ticky tack penalty - should've won that one.)
bye, bye Lang (my whipping boy all season - can't stand a "glider". and anyone else count how many times he forced us off sides by not taking the blue line aggressively? how many face offs he DOESN'T win?)
bye, bye rent a bert
Getslaaf is an impressive young talent - I thought he was one of their best throughout the series and just in his sophmore season, right?

Yeah, me too bro. I can't sleep.
And yes, Getslav (sp?) is in his 2nd full season and played very well. No doubt he looks like an excellant young player. Fast and gritty. Can't go wrong with that combination.

Thanks to the Wings for another great season.
I think they definitely overachieved, and provided a lot of entertainment along the way!

Well I think the ref's more than made up for that call,, in this game. Schick never woulda made it outta the building if Anaheim loses that game.
One thing that really bothered me though,,,, Chelios:rant: He shook hands with the Anaheim coaches, then straight to the locker room,,, what's up with that?? Totally classless,, from a guy that should know better.

Losing Knonwall and Schneider was too much to overcome.
I still think the Wings shoulda won this series. However, I can't cry about the officiating when I watch a team on their heals for 2 periods of a critical game. If they came out and started with the fire they showed in the 3rd; we would be headed to game 7. Yep, the Wings could have won and I believe they were the better team. They just didn't know it!

Yeah- I am interested in hearing on sports radio today what that was all about as well. It went from a very classy-looking move to something really shameful-hopefully there was something behind that.
Hey- how come when I try to quote something it doesn't enclose it in a shaded box...?I am hitting "edit" on the original message I want to quote.

They lost it when they could not close it with 50 seconds left, then handed to them in overtime. The redwing player then threw his stick into the wall it was over at that moment. Momentum shifted, get the the golf clubs out.
Go Pistons!
