Well fellas, I don't know where to begin. As most of you all know, those of you that have been paying attention to my posts and me running my trap, I've been trying to use reverse pschology. I've been avoiding saying "The Wings will win" at all costs. I don't wanna jinx the Wings anymore. It was working great. Up until this series. It hasn't worked the past 2 games. So I give up. I'm not trying reverse pschology anymore. I'm beaten down. I surrender hockey gods. I give up. There, you happy? You've won again.

So, with that being said. And I'm being serious now, I'm coming from the heart. I got a really bad feeling about tonight. I live and die with this team and I love the Red Wings like no other, but I'm just not feeling it tonight. Believe me, I really really hope I'm wrong and they make me eat my words, but I just don't see us pulling out a victory tonight. Either way, whatever happens, I'll live. I'll get over it. I'm gonna be tuned in, on the edge of my seat, chewing off the skin of my fingers due to the fact that I have no fingernails left whatsoever. My heart is gonna be pounding and I'm gonna be cheering and supporting this team as much as I can tonight. If we do lose, I pray we don't go out like a bunch of chumps. Let's make em earn it. We can't roll over and die. Stay in the fight and go down swinging. Good luck tonight boys, your gonna need it.

I agree with you. I'm a bit nervous. But I do believe that the Wings are fully capable of winning this game tonight and a game seven. I don't know what else to do but maybe I'll have to pull out the only Wings jersey that I have and put it on. The trouble is that it's a #14. But heck, maybe it will help! :)

OK we're going do do it for sure now. I've got some good Ju-Ju going. I have not worn my Wings Jersey since Shanny left but it's definitely win or go home time now. I dug it out of the drawer and then I went to my T-Shirt drawer and pulled out my Piston "Eastern Conference Championship" T-Shirt from '05 and put it on. Then I put my Wings jersey on over top of it. I may go out side and face due North and then hop on one foot while turning three complete revolutions to the left and then repeat the procedure to the right. That should do the trick!

Let's hope the real Red Wings show up tonight. I have to admit, that after that last game I gave up. And even said out loud "they're done". And I believed it. But the problem I am having with it now, is that no matter what the outcome of the last 2 games, or any games in this series have been I believe Detroit is the better team. I do... I truly do. If the Wings show up and play how they know how to play, and play THEIR game. They will win, for I truly feel that Anaheim simply cannot beat them when both teams are playing their "A" game.

Now I will readily admit that most of my thoughts about the Wings are clouded by a pure, unadulterated, absolute love of this team. (Which is odd, considering I am an analyst by trade, and supposed to be immune to such feelings. lol :lol:) But quite frankly I wouldn't have it any other way. So if I am off-base then I'm over it already. But I don't think I am.

Let's travel back in time to 2002 for a brief moment. Wings lose game 5 of the Western Conference Finals (in overtime) and are down in the series 3 - 2, and headed for Colorado. What happens? Hasek pulls out 2 consecutive shutouts (2 - 0, and 7 that's right 7 - 0) and the Wings go on to take Carolina in 5 games.

Have faith fellas, they can do this. I really believe they can, but no matter what happens tonight they will still be my Team. I will still start off next season thinking that Detroit is going to hoist the Stanley Cup. I'll still hate Colorado and most of all Claude LeMeiux. I will still believe that Detroit was the better team in this series and that the call that lead to a tie in game 2 was absolute garbage call according to Rule 78, section J of the official NHL rule book. "In the event that a goalkeeper has been pushed into the net together with the puck after making a stop, the goal will be disallowed. If applicable, appropriate penalties will be assessed." I still would like to know where the outcry was after that call.

Pretty good analysis. Draper and Maltby were non-existant this whole series,,, seriously, you never heard Drapers name unless he was in the penalty box and you "literally" never heard Maltbys name. For the Wings sake,, I hope Kenny put some "stips" in Kirk's contract for the next 3 years.:rolleyes: Like you said,,, unload Lang, Calder, Hudler and pick up another banger and a defenseman.

I think Babcock said it best going in to the playoffs. He said, "with the parity in today's league it is hard for any team to overcome significant injuries".
Does anyone doubt that the Wings would have won the cup if they had Kronwall and Schneider back on defense?
They showed a lot of heart in the 3rd period, but in all honesty it seemed like they were just watching the games themselves in periods 1 and 2. Hockey is about skating. When you sit back on your heals and watch the other team skate, and don;t take care of the puck in front of the goal.... game over. Series over!
I am not sure that the best team won this series.
So now look on the bright side....
