We can look back at the end of the year to what our predictions were at this point, and so far the Tigs are looking pretty darn good.
I have to say once they get Kenny back, a blister-free Bondo, Zoom-Zoom, get help from Miner or Miller from time to time, and keep knocking the SNOT out of the ball that this team might just win 105 games.
So my prediction is 105-77.
Salmoous....are the extra 20 games that you are counting...playoff games? If so..that will be enough to go deep:evil: ill say 99-63

Well as we learned last year, you can't really project early season success into a long-season record (anyone remember August?). Anyhow, I think they'll win more than last year - 97 (regular season only) - but that's dependant on at least splitting (if not better) with the league's elite (i.e., Indians, BoSox, etc.). Tough schedule coming up - we'll see what they're made of.

100 even. I think that down the strech, they wil want to make up for coughing up the furball known as the AL Central penant...They will be tight with Cleveland down the strech, but experience and desire will win out. This years run I think is going to be mostly offense though. It'll be nice to get K-rog back, but I don't think he will be as dominant this year.

93 games tops....the central and the AL in general are too dang strong. You figure they have 48 games against the twins, White Sox and Indians who are all solid teams. This doesn't count games against the Yanks, Sox, Jays, Angels, As........
I honestly think 93 is optimistic too....hopefully I'm wrong (per usual)

LOL. I was thinking of the NHL and NBA schedule with 82 games and I guess I used 182 instead of 162...woops. I still think 105-57. They are gonna stay hot this year with no slumps. They have the great pitching and potent offense needed to avoid a long slump. As it stands right now the Tigers are on pace to win 102 games, and they could have won quite a few more games already this year.

I'm gonna say 97-65.:) Granted, we do have a tough schedule in the toughest division....but over the course of this long marathon, I feel that CWS and Minny are gonna keep slowly falling by the wayside. I don't know if Cleveland has the pitching depth to sustain their pace either. Their top 3 are great, but their 4 and 5 suck bad right now. The only thing that worries me with us is our bullpen.:dizzy:

No team in the AL Central will win 100 games, no way. I say Tigers win 95, Minnesota wins 90-92 and Cleveland wins 88.

Thought I would bump. I still think 105. They are pace for 99-100 right now.

They're actually on pace for 110 right now....i think they will come short of that number and win 104. The bullpen is starting to get solid, without Zoom or Rodney. If Zoom and Rodney come back healthy and pitch consistently, and like they did last year, i don't see how this team can lose a game. With a good bullpen, i mean, how can you beat them?? The best offense in the league bar none, great defense, great rotation, great management, and with a good bullpen.....how will this team be beat???
With that said, this is baseball, and it is hard to stay as good as the Tigers are playing for more than a little while. I say, somewhere between 100 and 106. The crazy thing is, as good as they are playing, they are still only 1.5 games ahead of the Indians. That is going to be an absolute dog fight for maybe the #1 seed in the AL.

Rogers is pitching awful, Robertson has been solid since returning from the DL but lets see if it lasts the season, my prediction stands at 95.

What kind of math are you doing to calculate this? The way I have it figured, they are on pace to win about 98 games...Current win % is ~60.6%, which would give them about 98 wins. I feel that they will win 94.

I think both the Tigers and Indians will win 90+ games,it may come down to whichever team stays injury free during the last 2 or 3 weeks.Last year,Hafners injury towards the end of the year killed any chance Cleveland had of sneaking into a playoff spot. When he went down they were still in contention.Looks like it could be a very good race, the Twins are still in it also.
