Hope this is the right place to post this.
Husband and I want 2 different kinds of boats. He wants a bigger maybe at least 18-20' that is Big Lake worthy and I want a small enough boat that I can go down the river with or for quiet inland lake water and hopefully put in by myself. Do we buy 2 boats, one big expensive and one small and cheap or is there one that can suit us both?
thanks for any suggestions! :)

Would be great but He is not keen on getting 2 boats, no place to put 2 unless we store one - HIS probably!

BOAT= Break Out Another Thousand
2 Boats= Break Out Alotta ThousandS (Know this from personal exp.)
Look into something like a Starcraft 18' aluminum, full console, with a 50 Hp 2 Stroke Motor, 9.9 kicker, bimini top and you should be more than set- up for small and big water, just have to limit yourself on the big water to calmer days.

go with 2 boats..its only money..you never seen no brinks truck following a hearse!:lol: after my last trip and our new bigger boat..we are considering a smaller one too to fish shallow little places that don't require our size boat

2 boats that way if you don't want to go fishing with him you don't have too.

If you guys get in a fight and both still want to go fishing, you would have the option not to be around each other for a while. :chillin:

Can you believe it? We NEVER fight! He always ends up agreeing with me!!:lol: :lol: :lol: (although I might have to give in on this one.....;) ) (He also doesn't fish - wants a water-skiing boat, at least he doesn't want a jet ski!!!)

I have 2- a Lund 185 Tyee (19 foot) and a Lund A14 (14 foot). I use them both a lot. I am very happy with both. The 185 is a very good all around boat-equally happy 20 miles out in Erie or on a small lake. I use the 14 footer for small lakes when it is only me and 2 others-or on the Detroit river for jigging (better boat control) or fishing close in on erie in the Summer if it is just me and 1 other.

Two boats. 14 footer for you and 18-20 footer him. You both can tweak them to your pleasure. ;)

Yes, I think maybe its going to be 2 boats but one at a time. Don't know which one first but hopefully my little one so we can learn on something cheap! - pretty sure he will agree with that logic! :lol:
It will be good with a big boat too cause he did promise to put in a couple of downriggers too:one_eye: - (can you do that on a water-ski boat??) so I will get to fish big water too!
This summer we'll be renting here and there and taking boater safety so we'll be ready for our own rig
Thanks for all the replies! :)
