I was wondering if a 55 lbs thrust engine mount minn kota will push my 20 ft mirrocraft aluminum boat?? The tag on the side of boat says 1765 lbs and im not sure if that means without or with engine. The 55lbs is meant to push up to an 18foooter but im guessing that is fiberglass.

I would go with the 24V 70# at minimum, preferrably the 80#. The 55 might do on dead calm days, but any wind and it will be pegged on 10 trying to put the boat where you want it.

Ditto to what Esox said.
24 V with more thrust would never be a waste.
I've got a 36V 101 lb on my 19 footer

I could not get the 80lb motor so I went with the thirty six volt 101lbs of thrust. Oh boy is that a sweet little rig. As soon as the camera comes along I take a picture because this is one cool machine.
