Golf Range Finder Question

Anyone use 1 of these? I am thinking about giving it a try for hunting. Not for zeroing in but, just to get ruff distances to trees, trails, etc...cant afford the $200 dollar Nikon/Bushnell series and want something light and compact for treestanding.

it won't work. the golf ball range finder is calibrated to allow for the average surface level taking into account the dimples, and averaging them for a flat surface.
