Too late for leeks??

Am I too late for leeks? I have no idea where to find them but I really want too.

There's lots of them up here, but they're probably getting pretty bitter...it's been hot and dry, until today.

You can dig ramps year around, just a matter of what they taste like. They are best right after they come up.

Some were fresh and the tops were still very green with real nice bulbs. I took some of these. Some clusters had dying tops and were pushed up right out of the ground with the bulbs starting to dry out. I see them in damp or wet woodlands.
I also took some real nice chives.
