The Wings - Ducks Game 2 is tonight
The Wings have a 1 game advantage and hopefully tonight they can make it a Series 2-0 lead. Hasek was superb the other night and hopefully the rest of the Wings will step up and make this a game the Ducks will remember.

Hasek was superb, but the rest of the team better show up and play a little harder. Let's face it, both goals they scored in game 1 were lucky.

Man... Walleye Mike on t.v. at 11:00. Pistons at 3:30. Wings at 7:30. It's a mother's day to be remembered for sure!!

Should be a little better looking game by both teams, still a tight one (maybe ot), sure would be nice heading to the pond up 2-0.
Keys to a win....
Ducks: Don't shoot from less than 80 ft, Jiggy, Selanne stepping it up.
Wings: Bad angle shots, bring the 4 leaf clover from game 1, shutdown Getzlaf, Bert crashing the net, Beauchemin has to play well for us again.
Go Wings

What a garbage ducks goal to tie the game

OT, no place for a nervous person. With the video review of those goals at least they made the right call.

Tough loss :( Oh, well at least they aren't in the Sabers position. Plenty of time and games left in the series to shoot those Ducks down.

Yeah, pretty much sucks to be them. Down 2, heading behind enemy lines. Ouch.
I am not a fan of that tying goal by the ducks. I was very surprised on that call . Very surprised.

I believe if the whistle was reviewable, that goal would NOT have stood and the Wings come away with a 3-2 victory in regulation.
Also, is it me or are you guys getting sick of the Red Wings being bashed by all of the commentators, and even the intermission guys?
The refs didn't help an awful lot with some tic tac calls on the Wings, then having the Ducks dump a bunch of guys with trips and hooks, but no call??

the commentating is just brutal. I switch it over to CBC and it's almost just as bad...
As for that goal, they missed a rule (and so did the commentators, no surprise). Hasek was pushed into the net by Neidermeyer's stick. It should not have been allowed. What irks me the most, is that even after reviewing it, the rule was ignored.
Anaheim was the better team last night, and have been for both games so far. The Wings might have 2 periods out of 6.5 where they looked the better team.
I hope it gets better, but our 5 on 5 looked terrible last night. The turnover's, laziness, etc. Might be that they are tired, but I expect to see a little more passion out there in games as important as these.
Lang's pass was nice, I'll give him that, but he is yet to impress me with forechecking, puck possession and coughing it up less. Anyone notice how many break-outs there could have been if Lang and/or Samuelson would have reached, or skated a bit faster. very frustrating...
Here's to stealing game 3.

The CBC guys called it, and they said that the reason it wasn't called even though you could see it on the replay was the fact that only those refs are the ones that are allowed to called that and the booth is only allowed to judge whether or not the puck crossed the line.

I must have been switched over to VS. at that time. They never even mentioned it. ...as I was hollering at the tv.
Still, if you are reviewing a goal to see if it is legit or not, ALL rules of the game should be under discretion. If the refs notice something they missed with the use of instant reply, they should humble themselves and make the correct call. Pretty simple IMO. Thats the advantage of instant replay (to see the play over and make the correct call) and it's being ignored.

 CBC was takin' jabs at the Wings all night. On that game-tying goal though,,, Hasek didn't help himself any either,, waving his glove hand back like he had "no clue" where the puck was,,,,,, that's why the whistle wasn't blown right away, thus giving Niedermayer the chance to poke Hasek into the net. I believe the on ice official can call that,, not the video guys( at least that's what they said on CBC). You're right though,,, Anaheim has definitely looked better,,, it seems like they do whatever they want with the puck when they're 5 on 5.

The ducks tying goal was a debacle. Why they chose to review it is beyond me. The puck was out of sight and covered when Dom was pushed into the net. The goal light never went on, the ducks players didn't celebrate, move on drop the puck. Even when stripes pointed to center ice the Ducks looked confused and embarrassed for even taking credit for that goal. Unfortunately it ended up being a huge goal in the series and not some pointless tally.
With that said the Ducks have played well enough to win both games. Dom will respond big in game 3 and hopefully the guys up front join him. Lots of guys in Red that can play a lot better.
