Is there any real advantage to using the Bull Dog Nock Collar? I guess it protects your arrow from dammage while target shooting but it just seems like extra weight at the back end of the arrow to me. What are your opinions?

I have been shooting the CX Maxima Hunters for a year now and I can tell you that when I inspect the nock end the bull dog collar has many nicks and scrapes, which means they have been hit numerous times. Whether or not they saved any shafts from damage I really can't say. Last week I had a direct hit on a nock and I would guess that if it didn't have the collar the shaft would have been damaged.

If you take the nock collar off you will not see a difference in trajectory until you get to 100 yards...even then not many people can shoot consistently enough at that distance to even see that difference in trajectory.

Funny you asked about this and I posted earlier. I was just out shooting and this is what happened. Apparently if you hit just right even the collar won't save a shaft. Notice the small crack in the shaft at the very end. There's $10.00 down the drain.

I say the bulldog nock collar helps protect your arrow somewhat. But pair it with CX's new "meta nock" your arrows should be very protected. These metal nocks can take a lot of abuse while protecting your shafts.

The collar only weighs 3 gr. not enough to make a differance in flight. of FOB. Besides I like the looks of them.
