Has anyone else heard that this is the last year of the contract for FSN to carry the Redwings games??? I really hope that is not the case. I heard that they will be split between VS and NBC next year.

Maybe the Joe will sell out more often if people can't watch the Wings on TV  I wouldn't be surprised by any business move that Ilitch makes - remember, his goal in life is to have the whole world using Joe Bucks as currency...

 I don't know whats going on. I love watching FSN. I have gotten so used to Ken and Mick and the camera angles. I cant stand watching the Wings on any other channel. This is just a rumor that I heard and wondered if anyone else had heard the same thing

I have not heard that they are leaving. Too much money being made to walk away from the local broadcast. To answer a couple of questions. Center Ice uses whatever local broadcast is doing the game, sometimes you get FSN Detroit sometimes you get whatever team they are playing. Nice change of pace to have the other teams broadcast guys. It's great when you get TSN out of Canada doing a Redwing game. Hint Nashville boys are HOMERS!!!!!, Terry Crisp is lame, Ditto for the guys out of Tampa Bay, though they make up for it with the cheeerleader, ice cleaner girls.
As for the Joe selling out if there is no local broadcast ask the Blackhawks they had no local broadcast for years and never sold out. Can't say why but the cost to go to a game and the economy have alot to do with the attendance IMO.

It should be interesting to see what happens now that Mr. I holds all the cards with two very well liked teams. I'm sure he has a bitter taste in his mouth after Fox would not pay for the tigers and Illitch had shelled out alot of Free agency money. I would like to think that Mr. I is a bussinest man first and won't let the past effect his judgement. But I know I would be sticking it to Fox a little bit for what they did to him with the Tigers.
