Went out Wed. with the plan to do some rod trolling on the SCR at Port Huron. South wind put a damper on that. Kicker couldn't compete with the bow being blown back and forth. So I put some body baits on the downriggers and trolled all the way to the Marysville launch and half way back. Changed lures but not the results. But what I really want to say is the lack of fisherman in that area. There were three boats on the river when I got out and seen only one at Marysville. Does this say that there are not a lot of Walleye in that part of river? Or are the majority of fisherman whipping at nite and doing better? To be honest, I'm getting very discouraged to keep going out without getting anything while It seems Algonac and Marine City are doing very well. Some how I have to get these gas prices out of my head and go where the fish are, instead of hoping they are where I am. One final note. A frieghter was throwing such are large wake, I warned the three boats at Port Huron to keep an eye out. At the dock one guy told me he would have been thrown out of his boat had they not been aware. Gonna ask Coast Gaurd about this.
