do u think 30lbs of thrust is strong enough for a 15ft fiberglass boat? i will be fishing the detriot river mostly

I doubt it. You talking Cobo area or Downriver? That Upper part moves pretty good (I'll be there tomorrow :) ).

I'd be close. Mine has a bit more power than that (and its a 24V) and I have it on HIGH to fish Cobo area. 17' aluminium Bass style. Weights nothing.

Not nearly enough. You'll have to have it on high speed the entire time... which will suck down your battery pretty quick too. I'd say you need at least 45-50 lbs.
