Opening Day Tom

Well, this morning couldn't have went any better. After a rough scouting weekend, I managed to have everything fall into place and was able to bag this nice Tom - 22 pounds, 10" beard with spurs at 1". I have a pair of geese to thank for firing this guy up and getting him motivated.

Great Bird. Must not have shot it at Alibi because it didn't have webbed feet. Good bunch of geese on the property this spring though. :lol:

Nope, he's not an Alibi bird. I walked Alibi Saturday afternoon and there were no signs of life other than tadpoles and gators. Besides, I didn't have my snorkel gear with me.

Thanks for the compliments guys. I've waited a long time for this guy so I am pleased to have another upland bird crossed off the list.

Did you try my "thumb in the butt" trick to get the fan spread out. I've never tried it on dead birds.
