I may be one of the very few guys in Michigan that doesn't give a rip about the Red Wings or Pistons and wouldn't even know they were still playing expect for seeing the headlines on the sports page.
But for baseball nuts, the Tiger's have put a pretty decent streak together and the bats are coming alive.
Durbin pitched a great game!

Looks like the bats may be coming back to life as well. Hope Zoom's finger is not as bad as it sounds....

A nice streak indeed! Could even be a bit longer - Seattle's coming to town. After a tough series w/ NY (still one to go tonight), their pitching could be hurting. Friday night's starter gave up 5 in the first (don't know if he got the decision as that was a wild one - 15-11 Seattle). Weaver's set to go on Thursday (for now - there was talk that he had to turn it around on Saturday or else, and he didn't). Regardless, their bullpen should be tired.
Three more would be great though - heading to the Twin Cities on Friday, with Santana (a.k.a. - the whole pitching staff) going the first game. He's not going to like the fact that he got the ND last go-around with the Tigs. Another start from Durbin like yesterday's would be nice in that series. Also, Mauer is on the DL - one less slugger in the lineup. I don't wish him injury, but it would be nice if Morneau would catch a stomach bug next weekend, and maybe Hunter, too. Just a couple of days off for Tiger-killers.
Its not that I don't like the Wings - but as Mitch Albom pointed out yesterday on ESPN's "The Sports Reporters," its hard to follow them when the games don't conclude until 2:00 a.m. Much easier to get the score the following morning. And yeah, I could care less about the NBA - let me know when/if the Pistons win. So, in that respect, I guess I'm with ya Pinefarm.

After Seattle we have 3 AT Minn. and 4 AT Boston, Gotta go into those games hoping to split. Boston is in my mind, the team best equipped for a World Series run this year and Minny always plays us tough.

I manage to sacrifice some sleep for the wings ,but I can't watch even 15min of a b-ball game-for some reason I find it incredibly boring. Don't get me wrong I love to play it but I find golf on tv more thrilling than a pistons playoff game. However I do love to support them home teams, so I do look forword to all of the teams doing great.

Speaking of the Rocket, the NY Yankee's delayed announcing the signing because his new uniform had to be equiped with the NASA adult diaper. At least Clemens can get the team in on senior discounts at Denny's. ;)
Yanks are desperate.

Ok, I lied - managed to stay up for the Wings Game 6 (Nice!!!), but I'm really looking forward to the Sunday Night game on ESPN, even if it is in Minnesota (when is that new stadium going to be ready?). Ahhh, the ESPN game - nice for us fellas who don't get the local sports net.
May the streak continue!! (I hope that umpiring crew isn't following the Mariners to Motown - they may have cost the Yanks the game last night).

   Say what you will,,but the ROCKET is da'man. Maybe some of the siisy pitchers in the league today should watch this guy more often..and see how you really get it done. With all the batters crowding the plate, hanging there protected elbow over the inside corner,Roger owns the plate. Crowd it on him and your gonna pay the price..just like it was done before the game turned sissy. The yankees may be be desperate, which explains the price-tag, but they got one of the games best pitchers in pinstripes. And 7 in a row is a nice little streak also...hope the bats stay hot.

They sure look like a .750 team...on paper. ;) Luckily they're in a soft division and will probably make the post season. :D

arod -good player? look at his stats..will hold many records when he is done..and is probably the best hitter in the game over the last 6-7 yrs
damon-no arm..his only downfall
giambi-fessed up got off the juice and is a fine player
Matsui-overrated? he was hurt last yr..some feel like he is underrated
abreu-again..stats talk
cano-:lol::lol::lol:

their pitching is their ONLY weak link bottom line. wait until the all-star break. And since when is the East a weak division?

Judging by the thumping the Tiger bats have doled out, the AL should be worried about the Tiger lineup.
