i was woundering if anyone wants to share what mods they have done to their bows to improve a certain quality ie; making it more quiet, relieable, faster, etc etc. i'll go first.

my g5 optix ME sight is great, infact almost worth the 159.99 price tag, but one thing i did read and i found out true is that the setscrews on the "smart pins" are easily stripable. which i did NO PROBLEM! while first setting up the sight i stripped out and broke right off two out of the tree smart pin set screws. since the shop i work at didnt have any of the right size replacemnt screws and my impatients i decided to mod the sight to make it a little more durable (but 1 ounce heavier) since my setup is in tip top shape i dont feel like un bolting the whole thing and then readjusting it but, i can tell u that i drilled out clearance hole for #4-40 screws and but regular nuts on the back side. now i have no problem with stripping them out and if even if i do u can go to any home depot and buy a few more nuts and bolts.:)
i would post a pic but i have yet to hit the 15 post mark and i cant post pics yet.

I think I would have sent it back to G5 and have them replace it if it stripped out that easy . I have had some durability issues with sights from another manufacturer , and they replaced the parts for free . I'll make mods to a bow and accessories that wont void the warranty .

the problem with sending the sight back to g5 is that i will get the exact same thing i got in the first place. ie; a screw too small for the job of holding something secure. this sight is the closest thing to what i would call a perfect sight (in my eyes). if i have to open a few clearance holes and void a warrienty for perfection(again in my eyes) then so be it.
