With the bad news about Schneider... I am now doubting how well the Wings will do going forward.

Our defensemen are getting scarce, and they still have to play another 9-16 games to win the cup.

yeah, my thoughts are, RELAX!:lol: WE HAVE REALY GOOD DEFENSIVE FORWARDS (crap i left caps lock on:( ) and w/ the momentum the wings have now, they are gunna figt like hell to finish it up in 6. it sure sucks to have schnieds out but it isnt the end of the world trust me.

I agree with Neil here, This is not the first time that GR has had players step-up big. And besides, This is not the only time they have been without Schnieds. They will be fine. Look at how they handled themselves the rest of game 5 without him.

I agree totally on this one. I really want to see Sammy step up and smack some home from the point, on the PP. Plus Lebda has an ok shot from back there. The rest of the team is going to have to batten down the d and we should be just fine. Hook, fang, and claw, but fine just the same.

Nice effort by the boys in game 5. I was a little miffed after the sharks first goal but they came back well. Let's hope they can finish it tonight lord know we need the rest. I'm predicting the best game of the series will be tonight: Home game for the Sharks along with facing elimination will bring out their "A" game. It'll be fast and physical all three periods. :)

Detroit, being so close to finishing up this exhausting series, will also be at their best. Their win Saturday will give them the boost they need to play hard for all three periods. Hopefully their "D" will hold up.

I don't see a lot of fighting in this one; the Sharks can't afford to NOT play disciplined. If San Jose were to get a comfortable lead it could get chippy, but that is not the Wings style either.
As for predictions? Man! I just hope the Wings advance to the next round. Schneider being out scares me. Lets face it, if they didn't lose him in the playoffs last year they probably would have won the Cup.

I really think that the Wings are better matched up against Anaheim than they were San Jose. Anaheim has 2 of the 3 Norris trophy candidates though. They are going to be a tough nut to crack. Anyone know when the series starts?

You'd be REALLY PISSED at a Wings playoff game then:lol: . The screaming and yelling starts about half way through and you can't even hear yourself think by the end,, let alone the anthem.

The game itself,, pretty good. The Wings are happy it's over but I'm not so sure they're happy with the way they played though. WAAAYYY TOO MANY defensive zone turnovers. I'm not sure what to make of SJ though,,, they came out on fire, HAMMERING everyone in sight for the first 5 minutes,, then after that I counted 2 good checks for the rest of the game.:dizzy: One thing that stood out for sure was the men with the "C" on their jersey. It's hard to put into words how Lidstrom played. Marleau on the other hand,:( ouch. About Ken calling Mickey mean,, that was cause Mickey was laughing at the SJ guy that just fell down skating,:lol: . It was pretty funny. Ok,, on to Anaheim,, some start a "series breakdown thread".

:lol: I've been to about 1200 regular and post-season games at the Joe and it's NEVER,, "Let's Go Wings",,, it's always,,,, "GO WINGS",, and almost always at the very end of the word "glare",, there's always a couple knuckleheads that try it at the wrong time and their "GO WINGS" gets drowned out, then a little cheering starts,, then clapping, by the last 2 verses your ears are RINGING!! You are right on one point,, there is no booing or heckling but as far as disrespecting the anthem,,, there's plenty.
