Just about any oneida is a good bow in my opinion depending on the price and condition I have been shooting them for close to 20 years ever since the original screaming eagle, I can't stand shooting any other bow now. And now they are even michigan made up here in marion, so even a better reason to shoot one right???

I just bought one this weekend, I am very impressed with it and Claude Pollington, the owner of the company. He is one of the few CEO's left who takes pride in his product and company. Amen, on the made in Michigan.

I bought a Tomcat II last summer for the same reason you're thinking about it. I love it. In fact, if you decide to pass on it, please hit me with a pm as I might be interested.

Keep in mind though I've never shot any other Oneidas. I'm a has been recurve shooter. I wanted a compound I could shoot instinctively and off the shelf. The Tomcat is set up for that. When I say it's fast that's relative cause I've never shot a really fast bow but it seems fast to me. Very smooth to draw and surprisingly quiet as that's the thing most people didn't like about the Oneidas. I've since learned that the Tomcat was one of the quieter models that Oneida built.

I sold my left handed Aero Force two seasons ago and picked up a used Mathews. The Mathews is ok. I may try to buy the Onieda back from my buddy. The only draw back with the onieda is the darn thing weighs a ton. But it sure is smooth and fast!

One of the improvements to the new Oneida's has been to lighten them up, the new black eagle is not bad at all. Maybe not quite as light as the 2007 model bows, but in my opinion it is way smoother.

the tom cat is great .(i used to have one)..if it is a x80 that is even better, the riser is not center shot but that isnt really a problem now adays with the rests that are offered

the bow is quiet and the thin throat grip makes it nice to hold, just may have to use a better glue to hold it tight . it is a cast riser so it is light.

ONEIDA BOWS ARE EASY TO WORK ON! And a very good bow for the money!
