Ok guys, if I want to go fishing on the big M this coming weekend where is the best place for some browns? Up close to the Tippy or further down? Anybody know what the water levels are like?

Well I would say that you should do very well below the culpher on the Wellston side, The Dam does a good job regulating the flow so you should be able to fish there without a problem. Bring as many elk hair caddis(Olive 16's) as you can fit in your box!!! and Bring a good selection of streamers as well!!
I wouldn't totally rely on it but there is still a chance of hooking some steelhead down there....
Anyway Have fun with all the crowds:-( (I think I'll skip the fishing trip next weekend and just catch a buzz, cause the canoe hatch is scheduled to begin Saturday)

Yeah, I hear ya about the canoe hatch. Maybe I should stick to some small brookie streams instead.

Weezer, didn't you used to work for a canoe rental on the Rifle or am I thinking of someone else? If so was it Russells? Bob and I used to go to different schools together, if you get that. He and I used to play baseball together in the summers, a really nice guy, and quite a outdoors person too.
