I only saw the last 2 periods, but I was pretty underwelmed. They need homer. Or someone to create some havoc in front of the net. They really didn't seem to click. Good thing it is a 7 game series.

The Wings will finally split up Lang and Bertuzzi! Bertuzzi will be moved to play with Datsyuk and Zettersberg and take Holmestroms place in front of the net!
Aboot time, eh?

I don't think they played that bad. Maybe a bit unlucky...The sharks are faster nut in the second per. we held them to 3 shots. We out shot the hell out of them and just couldn't find the back of the net. Let's see what happens Saturday!!!

We had to go to my wife's school and watch it in the cafeteria since Millenium does not have the Versus channel. Geez, we put on a good flurry in the opening minutes and then pffft. I didn't think we played that bad. Just did not get a bounce and San Jose just sat back once they got the lead. I think getting a goal/first goal would've made a big difference. Looks like Homer could be gone until game 4. That's tough. We just need to keep working and get the power play going

Their power play was terrible. I mean terrible. Other than that they really didn't look too bad 5 on 5. But they just never clicked. Passes seemed kind of sloppy and the just kind of looked like their heart wasn't in it or something. Or maybe it was just because we were watching it on vs. They should stick with hunting and fishing shows. Because their hockey coverage sux. Bad.

I thought all in all the speed of the game was slow. They had plenty of chances to score and just did not get it done. I think that Nabokov really did not look that steller and he gave up a ton of huge rebounds. Hmmm. I personally think that San Jose did not really look like the power house team they were made out to be.

I really think i'm more confused now than I was before the game. I wondered all week about how San Jose would play, I thought they would be real aggressive, but they got their two goals and just clogged the neutral zone the rest of the game. Which I quess is smart move, I just think if the Wings were on their game, 2 goals should'nt be enough. Wings HAVE to score first.

I did learn a few things though.........Shoot the puck!!....Shoot the puck!!, Homer is one the most underrated players(as far as value to his team) in the NHL and the last thing, please trade Lang(thanks for the lucky goal in game six though).

They'll get 'em Sat.

I was truly amazed at how Nabokov gave up juicy rebounds and no Wings to be found. You can't say that they didn't put shots on goal. I am ready for tomorrows game..

I'm not gonna go crazy and say with Holmstrom we win that game, but that goes to show how much he means to the Wings.

Think back the when the wings got swept out of the first round by the Ducks. Everyone says that Jiggy stood on his head, but what I remember the most from that series is the fact that 60 foot shots from the point without someone crashing the freaking net does nothing but pad the goalies stats. If no one is coming in hard or creating havoc in front of the net then, those shots will be stopped by every goaltender in the league. I agree with you ck, he gave up a ton of rebounds, but with only sharks there to retrieve them it didn't seem to do the Wings any good. I think they are going to come out today with something to prove. Because they do have something to prove.

And what's with the fans at the Joe. It is like they made it through the first round and all of a sudden everyone stopped caring. They need to make some noise. I am really hoping for a packed house today. Get some momentum going like in game 5 against Calgary.

Oh yeah, let's see Big Bert out there with Pavs and Hank, or maybe even Filpula to get some energy going.

Just my coupla pennies.

We were at the 1st game against the Flames. I thought there must have been 1000 empty seats. The announced attendence was 19,000+, about 1000 short of sold out.

We were also there Thursday for the 1st game against the Sharks. I seriously think there were 2000 empty seats, never did here the attendence figures. I'm completely amazed by the lack of attendence. What is the reasoning? Is it strictly economey based? It can't be because the team stinks, they don't! I wonder if the loss of team identity has anything to do with it. No more Stevie Y, no Shanny, no McCarty(HUGE fan fav).

Babcock put Drapes, Malts, and Cleary out there in the 3rd. I thought "All right here we go, gonna stir things up, get some energy going". Pffft, nothing. It looked like the team was skating in mud all night. Nothing clicked. Better be a much better effort today, or the whole season may be in the tank.

Tigers are good again+ Pistons+Wings early playoff exits+Economy(corporate tics)+NHLPA Strike+$3.00 Gal. gas= poor attendance. The deeper the Wings get in the playoffs this year the more it'll get casual Wings fans back into it.

Its nice to see Babcock moved Lang down to the 4th line and moved Filppula up to second between Bertuzzi and Franzen.

Wings, please score first!! If I have to watch the Sharks play the trap again i'm gonna be taking a Sat. afternoon nap.
