Who watched the Angles game he blew after Mags brought us back, I don't know if its me or him, everytime I watch him on TV he blows it, I know he's better than that. I must jinx him or something.
He's been hangin' with Rodney too much.

I do remember last year he was good for a while then stunk it up for about a month and then went lights out for pretty much the rest of the season.
The team hasn't played well as a whole yet this season. Hang in there gang!
I have never figured out how Jones gets batters out. Doesn't seem to have good stuff or blazing speed. He sure earned his money last year. Maybe hitters have figured him out. Too early to panic. Only a half game out of first place.

I can't understand why Leyland didn't leave Rodney in. I know he likes to keep his closer for 1 inning, but F.R. actually was doing quite well.
Then in comes Jones(human heart attack highlight reel) . Every move he made was Busch League. I felt bad for Mags & Bondo...

I love it when people start blaming all the worlds' problems on Jones - no, he's not your prototypical closer (i.e., 97mph heater), he lets his defense do the work behind him (best to try to keep it away from short!). And no, he's not absolutely "light's out" like Gagne was a few years back, or how Mo Rivera has been for the Yankees all these years (save maybe this year). But he'll get the job done more often than not. Look at the closers in the game and you'll see that many of them do very well for a couple years, then get an arm injury and flame out (yeah, there are a few out there that have been at it for years, but not that many) - Jones has been pretty consistent for a long time.
Zumaya will get there, but as evidenced the other night, he's not completely there. I don't think he got any help from the homeplate ump, but all he needed was one out, then he walked four and hit a man. As soon as he does that in the closer's role, then all those same guys will be all over him instead of Jonesy. Till then, I'm happy to see Jones come in in the 9th.
Jones does alright. He just gets a little lonely out there and needs some company on the bases before the game is over.

He throws strikes. Once in a while he gets behind or walks a batter and gets in trouble, but generally his success comes from being ahead in the count.
