Just got done with a weekend of walleye wacking. I cant even remember how many fish were boated in two days, but it was well over fifty.
The biggest fish, 6 to 8 1/2 lbs came on #18's blue or black. Shallow shallow shallow was the key. The deepest fish we caught was 6 feet. there was many times when the motor had to be raised. Most of the bigger fish were in 2 foot of water or less.
On Saturday in the glassy calm water you could see the fish right up against the shore working bait with there backs out of the water. I think the home owners must have thought we were crazy.
The state park area was the best. Look for that dark water, I think that was key, dirty water.
Sorry but the digital camera was left up north, so no pictures.

Nice job on the fish, you were probably the guy in the lund in shore from me. We were going to come in closer but I got in to 5 ft and said no way. Hopefully the fish will move out deeper this weekend for a more conventional method of fishing I am more used to. What a beautiful day though.

I guess maybe thats why we didn't get as much as a release in 8-10 foot. We marked more fish than I knew what to do with but no luck. This was Sunday afternoon-evening. We ran #14's all over the water column and couldn't get anything. At least someone did something.

We also had great sucsess in the shallows this weekend pulled a thee man limit in a little under 3 hours trolling husky jerks no paticular color they hit everything we trolled past them. We released anything over 20" to help keep this fishery moving forward the water color was root beer brown from state park to hoyles everytime the depth went deeper than 9' the action would shutdown.
