What does everyone think about making the section of the Pere Marquette that was flies only, now no kill? I kind of like it. If you've ever fished the part of the AuSable that is no kill you know what I mean :) I believe there needs to be a balance, as I like to take one home once in a while too.

Not to sound like a snob or anything but I'd like to see a section of every trout stream designated to flies-only or no kill!
There are a lot of newcomers to the sport of trout fishing and I'm afraid of what could happen to some of the trout streams/rivers.
These new rules are a step in the right direction.

Weezer you could be right, it would be a good idea to have a no kill section on any valuable trout stream. It would at least give the true fly fisherman a place to go without being harrassed by others. Just how much stream or river do we need as a catch and keep (if we choose) area? Share the enjoyment of fishing, not necessarily catching.

Weezer, the problem is that by law, they can only designate a certain number of miles of streams as no kill and they are already at that limit.

No Kidding!?? I guess it is good to give the angler the option as long as they don't abuse it. ya know.
