the other nite I saw him actually hit a guy, well maybe not hit him he got run into but there WAS contact an he only made a few bad passes,if he checks anyone tonight the beer is on me,just once I'd like to see him pancake someone,an skate? this guy is the original "coaster" he just glides around waiting for something to happen, hey black crappie has he got something in his contract that says he can't ride the pine? What the hell do the coachs see that every Wing fan can't??? :fish:

Lang has done well in prior playoffs.
Down the stretch at the end of the regular season he was putting up some points.
I don't really like to gripe about performances until the season ends and I can look at the playoff contributions.
Besides my wife is madly in love with him....an affair with a guy that makes his kinda money might solve alot of my household fiscal issues. So I need for him to have every chance for a new and larger contract!!

I agree, Lang is a bum. In the NHL, and all sports pretty much, it's all about the system. Some players thrive in one system, some don't. Some thrive, then sign a huge contract to move into a different system and they job out. Lang is not meant for our system, he just doesn't fit. And he will not be a Detroit Red Wing upon the conclusion of this current season. He was great in a dump and chase system, and maybe he's just better suited for the East Coast. I will say this though, so far, through only 3 games, Lang hasn't played super bad. He hasn't set the World on fire either, but he's not playing as carelessly as he did in the regular season. His turnovers haven't been as numerous......yet.

Lang is gut wrenching to watch. Just very uninterested with a lack of effort. Loses battles all over the place, but he does have the potential for large rewards. That's why he's in there.
NE,
Sorry to break this to you, but Lang's wife is incredibly hot. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and your wife though!!

Lang reminds me alot Hull in his last year with the Wings. Minus a lot of the skill. And the ability to find a little spot of unoccupied ice (his office). And his... nevermind, maybe it is just their work ethic that they have in common. In my eyes anyway.

I may be on the wrong side for this thread, but I like Langer. He has a great presence on the ice. Personally it didnt bother me at all to loose Cronwall. Now there is someone who was a let down after his injury. Sorry guys!!!
NEWS FLASH!!! Bertuzzi is going to be on the Lang line tonight.

Can someone please start threads challenging the manhood of every other Wing who hasn't lit the lamp? Lang must've read this thread! He was on the ice for both goals so far.

:yeahthat: Lang has only won 17 of 54 faceoffs. Wow a whopping 31%. Way to go Langer. SIT HIM! OK, he was on the ice for both goals last night. Way to go. Now go and sit. He doesn't score goals, doesn't win faceoffs, doesn't have any work ethic that I have noticed. But on the flip-side, he does turn the puck over a hell of a lot.
Go Wings,

Oh, Come on!!! Don't Dawg Malts!!!:yikes:
The guy is useless. He's taking dives in the offensive end to try and draw a penalty, which they'll never get thanks to his reputation. He used to be a good penalty killer due to his speed, which has greatly diminished.

Still respectivly disagree with you. With the way these crap calls are made, you show me one player who has not embelished the call alittle. The Maltby / Draper penelty kill is the best in the business.

lol, ok, fair enough!! I think there are others that are just as if not more worthless than Langer. I personally like him, but obviusly we are not best friends with Mr. Ilich and Mr. Dombrowlski, so I am not sure anyone can do anything about it. But, for now.... GO LANGER

I don't care if they pull Lang or not. Just DON'T PUT HIM ON THE SAME LINE WITH BERTUZZI!!!!
The power play was dead with them together because we could't control the puck!! In the last two minutes we couldn't even gain the zone with them on the ice together to pull Hasek! With Bertuzzi and Lang on the same line our power play goes "end to end"!
SPLIT EM UP before we go down!

I have been done with Lang for three years. He's got no fire in him at all.
OK.....why do we have Maltby???????:dizzy::lol:
Are you serious? Personally I couldn't care less if Drapper or Maltby ever scored a goal. That is not their "role." Even goalless they are a huge plus to this or any other team.

The sun shines on a dog's...
Just razzing ya man. Lang's goal was pretty nice. Makes up for the empty netter he missed earlier.:lol::lol:
Seriously on the replay I swear it looked like he screamed "finally" as he was skating behind the net. Not trying to be funny there, that is honestly what I saw. Could be wrong though.
Dan
edit: for those that don't like Drapes and Malts, you should add some points to Hasek's gaa. Because they shut down a lot of top lines out there.

Ya know what, you may be right. Hopefully this will turn him around. He used to be something of a sniper. Let's hope he can get that back.

I don't know what is funnier, Magglio Ordonez or Langer getting hammered on M-S. They both rose to the occasion after getting dogged pretty hard. I'm not big favorites of either but they've both been productive lately.
I really think they read the Sound-Off forum and go out there with a chip on their shoulders!

Well let's see he will make about $3.7 mil this year. I think he was due to do something for that kind of money...... But I will say thanks to him and the rest of the boys.I'll bet they're happy to be out of the first round let's get fixed up and get ready for round 2.......Let's go Stars!!!!!!!

When he's not scoring, it sure would be nice to see him contribute in other ways (somebody please explain back check to him). He is a streaky scorer, so maybe good things are forthcoming.
