Zug island hit pretty well for me this morning. We lost more than we caught which was bad. But they were in their strong with one time both getting a fish at the same time and netting at the same time which was unusual. But also having others on at the same time but losing one or both of them. But it was a good morning.

More details please!:idea:Caught 8 fish total, 3 released (snagged). Couldn't beleive my gulp and other rubber worms blew out of the boat on the way to the launch this morning. Had to resort to the brown worms that were blew out from previous fishing, chartruese jig head. Just up river from Mud Island but down river from Mill, 25-30ft. I wasn't being secretive its just that I posted it on my thread allready:idea:

3 guys in a boat, 4 fish, one released (snagged). Chartruse was a dominate color, along with some chartruse gulp worms. I thought that they had to see it to bite it so that might work.
We missed a few others. We are not good jig fisherman anyway. I thought the water was pretty dirty, but more like milky not muddy. If think it will be a few more days yet before it really cleans up.

I fished out of Wyandotte tonight. Was probably the last one to put in and the last truck to leave. We started up in front of Grassy Islan on the edge of the channel because we were marking a ton of fish. Only problem was less than 6" of visibility. Did see one caught. moved up to the steel mill, one drift from warm water discharge to the cranes and missed a couple. Water was a bit cleaner, so we ran upriver almost to Belanger Park. Missed another one, then it got too dark to see my line. Ran back to Grassy Island and handlined from there to the bouys upstream of Mud Island. Lost one fish at the back of the boat just before the buoys upstream of Mud. Heck, I did better, had better visibility Saturday night in the snowstorm. :yikes:

Nah, never gave the quality report a second thought. If I could get the bean counters to listen, we wouldn't have quality problems! :yikes:
Heck, I've caught as many fish in 3 outings on the DR as I caught all year on Newburgh. Reason I didn't catch any yesterday is because it wasn't snowing. I gotta have the cold weather, you know. Will be back on the water tomorrow night.
