Started @ tippy on friday for the first 1.5 hours of light, 0 for 1. headed to another section for the rest of the day, 1 for 2.
Was on the river @ first light and went 1 for 2 again. my buddy went 3 for 6 today!!
Here's the deal the water dropped like 6 inches from Friday morning and the river is clearing up quickly! The water temp is 38 degrees!!!! our magic number is 42 degrees.
The fish that we landed were for the most part: 1) very bright!
2) mostly naturals (no fins clipped)
3) male
4) still out there!!!
#4 is kinda wrong, my buddy kept a 11.3 pound
fin clipped buck for the smoker.
We took a ton of pictures, I can't wait to see them!

I never stopped @ Tippy on Saturday but we did stop by on Sunday and It looked like a miserable time. I will not fish at the dam til after the steelie run!!!! I hate fishing with that crowd!
Here's the golden rule for fishing @Tippy(For all the newbies)
the person downstream always casts first!
the person downstream always casts first!
THE PERSON DOWNSTREAM ALWAYS CASTS FIRST!!!!!

WEEZER, I might get in the Tippy area this coming weekend. Any tips on where to go and what to use? Flyrod with flies? Big casting rod and reel with heavy line and spawn?

Steve, I'd show you first hand, but I'm 100% positve that I'm working on Saturday and 80% sure about Sunday.
My best suggestion is to stay away from Tippy!!!!!!!!! Trust me I'm not getting my fishing done there! It's more like work than fun with the Balls of 50lb test line and elbow to elbow anglers.
I'd stick to some of the other less crowded
well known holes IE. Suicide Bend, Rock Pile, Sawdust Etc Etc.
Remember to check at a baitshop about the new access sticker program, before parking your rig cause they are ticketing!!!!!
All of the same old gear, flies and baits will do but If I were you I'd stop by a shop and go heavy with orange flies and Wobble glos! Orange was the only color that worked for me and my fishing partner last week!!!!!
