I plan to fish the AuSable this Saturday and would like give the North Branch a try. I fish the Mason Tract just about every time I am up that way and I'm looking for a change of scenery. I'm also expecting the South Branch to be a little high still. Any North Branch regulars that could give me a few tips on accesses and hatches? I will be taking my dad in an attempt to get him back into flyfishing. I'm hoping he gets excited about it again. I don't think he's fished the AuSable before.

Thanks in advance!

i fished the north branch on opening day and caught a 12-14in brookie at dam four access. but i havnt fished many other areas on the north branch in a few years.try giving rusty gates a call, he can tell you all you need to know about the north branch. im with you, i allways fish the south branch. you can get the number for gates at www.gateslodge.com

Myself and a few buddies fished the North Branch for the first time last weekend. We usually go to the PM. The weather was a bit chilly but we had a blast. I just recently go into Fly Fishing about two years ago and fly tying this past winter. This was the first time I tried fishing with my own flies and it was so thrilling to see a trout (small though it was) rise to my own fly!

The North Branch of the Au sable is very beautiful and we look forward to ruinning into you guys up there some day...

Strudell,

I can't wait to get on the North Br. It doesn't look like this weekend's weather is going to cooperate much, so it may be more of an exploring weekend for my dad and I rather than fishing. I'm still looking forward to it none the less.

thanks
